How to build dashboards including Rudder data?

Rudder allows easy integration with external tools, and we will here see how to extract data into other visualization tools. We can distinguish two 2 types of information:

• States that can be extracted using the API
• Events that are written into log files

Compliance and Inventory information

You can use Rudder Web API to get compliance and inventory information. Particularly, the compliance and nodes calls will be useful for such dashboards.

Changes information

You can use the log file that contains all changes reported by managed nodes that is present on Rudder server. Information about the content, and how to parse, including a full logstash configuration can be found in the documentation about events monitoring.
